An anti-immigration sign that was placed by the side of the road in a village in County Tyrone has been taken down by police, reports Breaking News.

On the walkway in Moygashel on Monday, there was a sign with the words “no illegal immigrants for one mile” and a picture of many individuals in a tiny boat.

It was abandoned beside an orange arch that crossed the village’s main thoroughfare.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., police arrived on the scene and took down the sign, reports Breaking News.

The event took place at a time when worries about racial occurrences and racist attacks in Northern Ireland were on the rise.

According to recent data, the area recorded the most number of racial incidents in a single year last year.

Following false information on social media following the death of three young children in Southport, there was unrest in Belfast and attacks on some businesses owned by individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds. Tensions around the UK increased during this period, reports Breaking News.
