Let’s face it, Dr Tony Holohan is a hero to the Irish people.
His leadership and guidance has helped flatten the curve so that a widespread outbreak of coronavirus hasn’t taken hold in Ireland.
Dr Holohan’s incredible advice at the right time is the sole reason why the government took the measures that they did. Leo Varadkar and Simon Harris made no decisions that Dr Holohan didn’t advise them to make to help flatten the curve, and the people recognise it.
We held a poll this week asking whether our readers would prefer Dr Tony Holohan to be the Minister for Health instead of Simon Harris.
Close to 18,000 people took the poll with a staggering 82% of people saying that they would prefer if Dr Tony Holohan was the Minister for Health.
It remains to be seen whether Dr Holohan runs for Office in the future, but our poll would suggest that he would definitely win a seat and a front bench role. The full results are below:
