Pope Francis: Paris terrorist attacks are ‘not human’ and those responsible should not use God’s name to justify “violence and hatred”

An emotional Pope Francis has said the recent terrorist attacks in Paris are ‘not human’ and condemned those responsible for using the name of God to justify “violence and hatred”.

The head of the Catholic Church made his comments whilst he was speaking in a telephone interview with the Italian Bishops’ Conference official television network. In the emotional interview the pontiff spoke of his shock and horror of how those responsible could inflict so much pain and horror on their fellow man, the Pope also said the attacks are “not human, and the he is currently praying for the people of France at this tragic time. The pontiff said: “I am close to the people of France, to the families of the victims, and I am praying for all of them,” Pope Francis said. “I am moved and I am saddened. I do not understand, these things hard to understand.”

Meanwhile when he was asked if he thought this latest terrorist is part of the “piecemeal Third World War” the Pope replied: “This is a piece of it,” adding “there is no religious or human justification for it.”
