Popular Co Sligo councillor Seamus O’Boyle sadly dies aged 57

There was some sad news for the residents of Co Sligo as the county’s popular Councillor Seamus O’Boyle has suddenly died following a tragic accident recently.

It is understood that Mr O’Boyle crashed his van after suffering a heart attack whilst he was driving down the Temple St area of Sligo town. Gardaí say Mr Boyle (57) crashed into a house on the street at approximately 5pm on Monday evening he was subsequently brought to Sligo Regional Hospital where he sadly died a short time later.

Meanwhile Sligo Municipal District Mayor Thomas Healy paid his respects to Mr O’Boyle saying the ever popular councillor was a ever lasting figure amongst the Sligo community. Mr Healy said: “He will be sadly missed by his community where he was loved and respected.”
