Powdered alcohol approved for sale in the States for the second time

palcohol

The product, called ‘Palcohol’, is now back on the market after the alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) briefly authorized its distribution last year, but retired it soon after stating that the label approvals had been mistakenly granted.

Arizona company Lipsmark confirmed that it is ready to begin manufacturing and selling Palcohol in the summer, now that the product is legal again.

The Palcohol powder is mixed with around 80ml of water to make either vodka or one of three different cocktails.

The product can actually be snorted, and could even be sprinkled on food. Lipsmark says, however, that it would take a ”large amount’ to get you drunk.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed that Palcohol will only be sold to people of legal drinking age, and distributed through liquor stores and bars.

Powdered alcohol has already been approved for sale in Japan and some European countries.
