Prayers were said yesterday for toddler who tragically died on his family farm in Cork on Saturday at around 2 pm.
Ben O’Regan, who was due to celebrate his second birthday next month sadly died of head injuries that he sustained from the incident.
Emergency services were called to the scene by Ben’s family and he was airlifted to Cork University Hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
His heartbroken parents, Debbie and Roy are being comforted by their family.
Prayers took place at services in the local area and a mass took place on Saturday night in the local church of the Seven Sacraments in Lowertown.
Local councillor Michael Collins told the Irish Independent: “The whole community are in shock and have been numbed by this incident”.
Last year was one of the worst years for farming fatalities which seen 30 lives lost on Irish farms, an increase of 90% since 2013.
