The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has announced the beginning of talks about Ukraine’s accession into the EU, prompting ailing Russian President Vladimir Putin to fly into a fit of rage at his abject failure.
Confirming the news of the talks via X/Twitter, the negotiations will soon be underway. Moldova too might join the Union.
Mr. Putin’s ill-fated invasion of Ukraine not only prompted the expansion of NATO, but also the potential enlargement of the European Union, the two institutions that he fears the most.
