When Donald Trump won the 2016 US Presidential election it was speculated that the new leader would be in a position to shape the makeup and outlook of the country’s Supreme Court for decades to come.

Now just a week out to the 2020 Presidential election, the incumbent President has confirmed his third appointment to the US Supreme Court, the Catholic, conservative mother of seven, Amy Coney Barret.

Following the death of 87-year-old ultra-liberal Ruth Bader Ginsburg last month, calls from Democrats and their allies liberal media as well as leftist and progressive activists to halt filling her seat on the highest court in the US have been ceaseless but President Trump has pushed ahead with his agenda.

It is rare for a US President to get to appoint 2 or more Supreme Court Justices let alone three in just one term and President Trump’s appointments of Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and now, Amy Coney Barret will be sure to radically impact the leaning of the court for decades.

With President Trump’s move to appoint Justice Barret there have been calls for a potential Biden administration to “pack the court” which is to say simply increase the number of Justices that sit on the bench, which is currently nine, and add progressives who will not impede the Democrats agenda.
