All-in-all it was a tremendous visit by President Donald Trump to Doonbeg, Co. Clare this week.

Arguably the most powerful man on the planet stopped his golf game this morning to say hello to local school children and their teachers who were luckily stationed at the Ninth Hole.

President Trump was playing the 18 hole course at Trump International at Doonbeg before he departed for America once more.

Principal of Clohanes National School Aideen O’Mahony told RTE that it was a “very exciting” morning for pupils and staff and that they couldn’t believe their luck when the President offered to come down and say hello to the children looking on.

He took photos, shook hands and asked a number of questions to the lucky onlookers.

President Trump and his family have left Shannon now and are en route back to the United States.
