President’s Club charity organisation to close after alleged sexual harassment claims at an all male charity fundraising event




One of Britain’s biggest charity organisation’s the President’s Club has confirmed that it will not hold any further fundraising events following recent accusations of sexual harassment at a charity fundraising event.

The charities decision to halt its operations comes after a recent undercover report published by the Financial Times found that two undercover journalists were the victims of repeated sexual advances at an all male event at the Dorchester Hotel.

In an announcement on Wednesday evening a spokesperson for the organisation released the following statement confirming the chairty organisation’s closure.

The statement reads as follows: “The trustees have decided that the Presidents Club will not host any further fundraising events.”

“Remaining funds will be distributed in an efficient manner to children’s charities and it will then be closed.”

The charity organisation’s closure which has become somewhat of a national scandal in the UK, has occurred after an in depth report found that two undercover reporters along with a number of other women hostesses were sexually propositioned and groped at the event which seen 300 men in attendance.

According to the report which was published in The Financial Times, the women hostesses were the victims of relentless sexual advances as well as repeated groping.

The damming report also alleges that some hostesses were propositioned by what are considered to be respected men of the community, whilst even more alarmingly one man deliberately showed his penis to one hostesses during the dinner which raises millions for good causes.

The alleged events at the annual fundraising event which provides funding to a number of good causes including Great Ormond Street’s Hospital, has led to a number of women’s rights groups to voice their disapproval at the alleged behaviour of those involved with many labelling it completely unacceptable and deplorable.

Meanwhile The UK’s charity commission has said it will conduct a full review into the alleged incidents that occurred at the event and have described the issue as a matter of urgency.
