Britain’s Prince Harry will attend King Charles’s coronation next month, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said.
Harry, who revealed his difficult relationship with the royal family in his controversial Netflix documentary and autobiography, Spare, will be crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6 alongside Charles and his stepmother, Queen Consort Camilla, reports RTE.
With the event taking place on Archie’s fourth birthday, Meghan will not travel to the UK, but will remain in the US with the couple’s children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The news ends months of speculation over whether the couple will be in attendance for the King’s big day, but Meghan could be accused of snubbing the monarch and royal family, reports RTE.
Last October, Buckingham Palace announced that the coronation of King Charles III would take place on May 6.
Charles, 73, will be officially crowned at Westminster Abbey in London, following a long tradition dating back more than 900 years.
In a brief statement, the palace said: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” reports RTE.
