The chair of the Irish Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, Professor Philip Nolan has said that Ireland needs the highest level of vaccination before non pharmaceutical measures can be relaxed.
Speaking to RTE, professor Nolan said that the country needs to be mindful over the coming weeks as the Delta variant continues to spread.
Professor Nolan said that people are beginning to forget themselves in terms of getting too close and how easily this virus spreads.
Although Nolan said the Covid-19 vaccines offer great protection but he warned that the vaccinated shouldnt be feeling inappropriately bulletproof as high levels of infection could leave us all in real trouble.
