Prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s attempt to pressure Georgian officials to ‘find votes.’

The investigation centers around a phone call that the now disgraced former President placed to Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. During the call, Mr. Trump was heard asking officials to ‘find’ enough votes to alter the election’s results in his favor.

Among other charges, Mr. Trump faces solicitation of election fraud, making false statements to state and local government bodies, conspiracy, racketeering, and violation of oath of office. If convicted, he could face some serious jail time.

The former President is likely to face multiple legal challenges over the coming months, both stemming from his zeal to steal the 2020 election, his tax affairs, and murky financial dealings.
