Met Eireann pull back on snow expectations by now claiming that it’s only possible

Met Eireann have somewhat pulled back on their snow forecast predictions by now claiming that it’s only possible that the country will see a heavy snowfall this week.

Expectations were similar to that of ‘The Beast from the East’ but the national weather forecaster is now saying that that is highly unlikely.

Meanwhile, a snow and ice warning is now in effect for ten counties as freezing weather overnight is causing dangerous conditions today.

The Status Yellow warning, affecting counties Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan, and Waterford, will remain in place until 9pm this evening.

A second Status Yellow warning for all of Munster, Connacht, and Leinster will kick in at 8am on Thursday and remain in effect until 8am on Friday.
