A protest is taking place this afternoon outside Mountjoy Prison in support of teacher Enoch Burke, who has been jailed again for contempt of court.
In a row that all stemmed from the teacher refusing to call a boy “they”, he eventually ended up spending more than 400 days in prison for not staying away from the school after being dismissed over a row with the Principal over the initial affair.
Protesters are going to gather outside the main entrance to the prison at 1:30pm supporting Burke’s right to not call the boy “they” in the first place.
