The public is still reeling from revelations of a major corruption investigation that is taking place inside an An Garda Síochána after it was revealed that garda stands accused of taking bribes from hundreds of Pakistanis and Indians for falsified documents allowing them to stay in Ireland.
It is thought as many as 800 people from the Asian sub-continent paid €10,000 for falsified documents granting them the right to live, work and claim benefits and apply for social housing in Ireland.
It is believed the garda was operating in partnership with a Pakistani man who ferrying migrants from his home country and India into Ireland.
In recent months’ other investigations have revealed a huge immigration scam revolving around taxi licences that was uncovered by the Gardaí.
People have taken to their social media accounts to express their anger at the revelations and their fears as Pakistan is known to be one of the most dangerous country’s in the world in relation to terrorism.
