Residents in Kilkee Co Clare have been advised to avoid the beach due to an overflow of wastewater in the area.
The warning comes after Irish Water confirmed the beach has been closed to the public for two days in order for a cleanup operation to take place.
Irish Water say incident occurred after electrical issues caused a number of pumps to be out of service for a number of hours on Wednesday morning.
The public are being urged to avoid the area as the waste overflow is deemed to be a public health hazard.
