Pubs and nightclubs could have extended opening hours after Covid-19 it has been revealed.

Under new proposals being considered by the Minister for Justice Helen McEntee, pubs and nightclubs could have extended opening hours whilst theatres, galleries and exhibition centres would have an easier access licences.

It is believed that the option is being considered in order to help the sector re-emerge from the pandemic.

Although no decision has been made, it is believed that pubs and nightclubs could have staggered or extended opening hours in order to recoup financial losses.

The industry which has been hit hard by the pandemic have been calling for a change to the licensing laws in the past citing better financial viability and a boost to tourism.
