Police in Mexico are investigating the shocking murder of a young mother in the US border area.
Lisbeth Flores, 23, had travelled from her home in Texas to the Mexican border city of Matamoros on a trip to visit her boyfriend, the Mirror reports.
However, when she failed to return home her mother in the US filed a missing persons report. The next day, on the 11th of August, police discovered her body. Flores had been savagely tortured to death, with her teeth reportedly removed.
The FBI are understood to be working with Mexican authorities to catch those responsible for the barbaric crime. Mexico is infamous for its shocking levels of violence, particularly against women. The US border region has some of the highest homicide rates in the world, with most of the killing connected to the local drug cartels.
