Maurice McCabe was quite simply put through hell.
The former Cavan garda was the subject of a two-part RTE documentary which showed the immense torture McCabe, his wife Lorraine and all their children went through over the whistle blowing scandal.
McCabe was practically crying numerous times throughout the documentary alongside his wife who stood by his side throughout the national coverage he endured.
He is known as the “whistleblower” and the two-part-documentary showed what many are describing online as the utter disgrace the gardai truly are.
McCabe and his wife gave candid interviews about how the family endured over the decade, especially when McCabe became a regular on national news.
Maurice McCabe’s wife told of how McCabe is solely responsibly for changing the way the gardai is run today, a statement made to them by the new Commissioner when he met them in their home for an hour and half where he mostly apologised for the wrongdoing that McCabe endured.
