Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to soon sign a law mandating forced chemical castration for convicted paedophiles.
A pro-Putin political party in Moscow has produced new legislation which is under review by the government that would see Russia adopt the policy that has already be implemented in its neighbouring allies Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The new legislation is seen as a method of curbing the increasing number of paedophile attacks on children.
The new draft laws would impose forcible chemical injections on convicted paedophiles before they are allowed to be released from prison at the end of sentences.
Ironically, while some commentators in the West condemn this practice as barbaric, they support the same type of drugs being given to both adults and children as “hormone blockers” if they identify as the opposite sex.
