US federal charges accuse the singer of running a system that would force young girls to provide sex for him and his freinds.
The judge has ordered that he remain in jail without bail after hearing charges placed against him.
The federal prosecutor stated that R Kelly is an extreme danger to the community, especially to teenage girls.
The singer has once again categorically denied any involvement or misconduct. He has pleaded not guilty and his supporters have reiterated that Kelly has never done anything inappropriate sexually, has never sexually abused anyone or been involved with any such system.
