Met Eireann is predicting a wet night ahead, with heavy showers and the possibility of thunderstorms in the early hours, leading to a very wet and blustery Friday morning.
The weather is expected to improve towards Friday afternoon though, with periods of sunshine mixed with scattered showers and temperatures of around 15-17C.
The coming weekend will likely be a washout, particularly Saturday, with heavy showers predicted across much of Munster and Leinster.
