Gardaí in Co Louth have arrested a man aged in his 50s after a Garda officer was injured following an incident in Dundalk.
It is understood the arrest comes after the officer sustained an injury close to his eye whilst responding to a public order incident at Bakehouse Apartments, at approximately 5pm this evening.
Gardaí say the injured officer was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda following the incident.
They added that a second man was arrested in relation to public order offences.
