In the region of 75,000 rock music fans are set to descend on Co Meath this afternoon as the iconic Slane Castle concert will get underway.
The concert which will see heavy metal giants Metallica play their first Irish concert in over ten years is expected to see people come from far and wide as the Co Meath venue gears up for yet another memorable event.
Although weather conditions are expected to be damp and wet early on Saturday morning, Met Eireann say conditions are expected to dry once the concert gets underway on Saturday evening.
Gates for the event which has a whole host of support acts including Ghost, are expected to open at 2pm.
Meanwhile a large Garda and Security presence is expected to be in the area as music fanatics make their way to the venue.
