Recall issued for Easter eggs sold in Irish supermarkets that could contain pieces of metal




Due to concerns that they could contain metal shards, a number of Easter eggs sold in Irish stores are the subject of an immediate recall, reports The Mirror.

Just before the Easter holidays, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland on Friday issued a warning for some batches of hollow chocolate eggs made by Tony’s Chocolonely.

Both the milk chocolate and the milk caramel sea salt items are impacted.

According to the FSAI, “These batches of Tony’s Chocolonely hollow chocolate eggs are being recalled due to the possible presence of small metal fragments,” reports The Mirror.

The following batches are included by the recall:

Milk Caramel Sea Salt: Batch codes L0385D, L0415D, L3244D, L3254D, L3264D, L3274D, L3304D, L3384D, L3394D, L3404D, L3444D, L3454D, L3464D, L3474D
Milk Chocolate: Batch codes L0355D, L0345D, L0315D, L0305D, L3544D, L3534D, L3524D, L3514D, L3484D, L3374D, L3344D, L3334D, L3324D, L3314D, L3234D, L3204D, L3194D, L3184D
Both varieties come in 242g packs and carry a best-before date of June 30, 2025.
