RECALL NOTICE: Hundreds of Opel cars recalled across Ireland due to potential fire risk

Hundreds of Opel Insignia cars across Ireland are being recalled due to a potential fire risk.

It’s understood that the recall is voluntary with RTE reporting that the recall has been issued by Leeson Motors Limited and affects 386 vehicles in the Republic of Ireland.

The vehicles were manufactured between July 2016 and November 2018. The problem relates to vehicles’ fuel hose, which the company says may become damaged when in contact with a support bracket.

It says that as a result, fuel may leak out and could cause the tank to go on fire.

RTE says that the company will contact all affected customers, advising them to make an appointment with their local Opel dealer where any necessary repairs will be carried out.

Anyone who thinks that their vehicle may be impacted can contact Opel on 01 533 9818.
