Actress Amber Heard was recorded gloating to her then husband Johnny Depp that no one will believe him that she beat him because he is a man.
The pair were embroiled in a bitter divorce in 2016 after their 15-month marriage ended acrimoniously.
Heard received $7million from Depp in an out of court settlement and in 2018 began to publish claims that she had been in physically abusive relationship. While she did not name Depp as the alleged perpetrator it was assumed that she was referring to her failed marriage with the actor.
Depp then launched a $50million (£38.5million) defamation suit, insisting his ex-wife’s claims implied he was the abuser.
Both of the actors are now accusing the other of domestic violence.
In an expletive laden 30-minute recording obtained by the Mail Online Heard is recorded mocking Depp saying:
“Tell the world Johnny, tell them… I Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence… and see how many people believe or side with you.”
For his part Depp has produced photos showing injuries he sustained from the alleged violence at the hands of Heard after Heard did the same herself showing injuries she attributed to Depp.
