It’s being reported that only 20 asylum seekers have chosen to relocate to Ireland.
This relocation is organised by the government, a scheme to taken in people from Iraq and Syria Ireland has agreed to take in 2,600 people.
The Department of Justice has acknowledged that at 20 people, the uptake is very low.
The European Union have agreed to relocate 160,000 from countries ravaged by war, and place them throughout Europe.
The Irish Times has reported that the first Syrian family will arrive in the country from Greece, by the end of the month.
