All regional airports around the country have received €2m in additional funding to help them meet their management and day-to-day operational costs.
These payments come under the scope of the Regional Airports Programme, and will bring the total funding for these facilities in 2014 to €13m. The money will help airports meet their core management and operational costs.
Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe said the programme’s goal is to allow the airports become self-sufficient within a decade.
