A regulatory body has confirmed that electricity will not be disconnected over Christmas for households behind in their bills.

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities has confirmed that no households will be disconnected from the grid between December 1 and January 31.

Customers deemed vulnerable because of their dependency on electricity supply will also enjoy a six-month moratorium until March 2024.
