The HSE’s Chief Executive Paul Reid was interviewed on RTE News and said that there is real concern that the HSE could be put to the brink after the New Year.
Paul Reid said there was real concern staff could fall ill as health services try to deal with what’s coming in January.
Reid said public action has helped ease the pressure on the service, but the HSE will try to approach the Omicron variant from a very high base.
It’s expected that case numbers will rise dramatically over the coming weeks.
