Reopening of pubs depends on advice by NPHET, Government admits

The reopening of pubs still hinges on positive advice by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET), despite the set date of Sept. 21, it has emerged today.

Publicans reacted well to the news of a ‘promised’ reopening date, but Government officials admitted today that pubs might still remain shut if the Covid-19 situation does not improve significantly.

Over 300 new cases were confirmed yesterday, which does not bode well for the immediate future of the country’s boozers.
