Even Amnesty International has said that rates of rape and sexual assault in Scandinavia and Finland are “shockingly high”.
Investigators have said that there is a culture of “endemic immunity” for perpetrators of sexual violence after looking into a myriad of cases in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
In Sweden in particular, police have been accused of inconsistencies in the methods in which they investigate reports of rape and sexual assault as well as in how they treat forensic evidence and how they interview suspects.
Reports of rape, sexual and anti-social behaviour have sky rocketed in these countries in recent years.
The BBC reported in 2018 that in the Swedish city of Malmo, dubbed the “rape capital of Europe” the majority of men convicted of sexual violence were migrants.
In Finland the President and Prime Minister both spoke out earlier this year about Muslim child rape gangs targeting Finish girls after the authorities and media in the country tried to suppress the information.
