There are reports that actor Will Smith is “back in talks with Netflix” to produce a biopic of his life.
According to the Metro, the project had stalled in the wake of Smith’s invasion of the stage at the Oscars when he slapped comedian Chris Rock, shouting at him not to mention the name of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
An insider at Netflix is said to have reported that since Smith apologised and stayed out of the limelight for some months, it’s possible that talks over the project can start again and the slap controversy may even feature in the biopic.
At the Oscar ceremony in question, Smith won the Best Actor award but he has now been banned from the Oscars for ten years.
