Researchers say that they are close to developing a vaccine for COVID-19




Scientists have revealed that they are close to developing a vaccine for COVID-19.

According to The Daily Express, researchers from Mucosal Infection and Immunity say the a close to developing a vaccine following successful testing in mice.

Speaking about the findings Senior researcher Dr Paul McKay, of Imperial College London, said that tests have proved positive and the mice have responded really well.

It is believed that the team led Dr Robin Shattock, are working with scientists in Paris who are looking at effectiveness of the vaccine in monkeys.

Researchers say if testing proves positive in monkeys they hope to begin the first human trials by June.

However the vaccine would not be available for at least another year.
