After McGregor’s victory against Chad Mendes last night, it has been revealed today that January 2, 2016, will be the likely date for the ultimate fight night: Conor McGregor v Jose Aldo.
Though the date is not yet “set in stone”, according to UFC officials, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas has been reserved for that particular day.
McGregor defeated Mendes on that very same venue last night. After trailing his opponent for most of the first round, McGregor came back on the second round and floored Mendes with a hammering left-hander.
The victory bestows McGregor with the interim featherweight title and sets him in a direct collision course with Jose Aldo, in what’s possibly the most anticipated -and lucrative- fight in UFC’s history.
