A lucky Euromillions winner had just until 5:30pm today to collect his prize, and he showed up at Lotto HQ with the ticket with about one hour to spare.
The winning ticket had been sold in Tesco in the Market Green Shopping Centre in Midleton, Co. Cork, on May 6.
A lotto spokesman said: “As a result of the National Lottery media awareness campaign, we’re delighted that a ticket holder has come forward!”
Whether there was some sort of issue with the ticket, or it was a mere stunt remains unclear. Either way, the winner is nearly 400k richer this evening.
