Rio 2016: Irish boxing back on track as Stephen Donnelly wins first round bout

In a bad week for Irish Olympic boxing today marked a turnaround as Stephen Donnelly successfully overcame his first round bout against Algerian Zohir Kedache.

The 27-year-old Ballymena man thankfully coasted through his bout against the Algerian taking victory in all three rounds earlier this afternoon to advance to the next round.

The result marks a great turn around for Donnelly who almost quit the sport back in 2010.
