There’s been reports of widespread complacency setting in with people seemingly ignoring all guidelines and restriction measures and freely going out and about as normal.

The Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies has revealed that seismic activity shows a large increase in traffic on the roads this week. People initially adhered to the lockdown but over the past week more and more people are leaving their house for more than 2km and out driving around.

The Liberal spoke to an off duty garda who told us that if people don’t stick to the current measures that regardless of the daily confirmed numbers, the government will enforce an even longer lockdown as a result and people don’t realise the risk that they’re putting everyone else at.

Meanwhile on Friday, Leo Varadkar said that they lockdown could be extended by 2 to 3 weeks if people continued to go out unnecessarily.
