A teenager has been killed in a road crash overnight.
The incident happened in Ballymascanlon, Dundalk, Co. Louth, at around 9pm on Tuesday evening.
It is understood that two cars collided, and a teenager who was a passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene. The driver of the car fled.
The driver of the second car, a man in his 40s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
