The tragic trend of road deaths continues today, after a 71-year-old man was struck and killed by a van in Co. Limerick on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened as the van was reversing into a yard of a house in the village of Ballyneety in the county.
The deceased, a 71-year-old man named locally as Sean Ryan, was pronounced at the scene.
It is understood that the victim’s son was driving the van and accidentally hit his father.
