The tragic trend of road deaths continues today, after a woman in her 60s was killed in a collision in Co. Roscommon on Thursday evening.
The incident happened near Kilmaryal, Elphin, Co. Roscommon at around 8pm last night.
The woman was walking along the road near her residence when she was hit by a passing car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a male in his 50s, was not injured.
Gardai are asking for witnesses to come forward.
