The tragic trend of road deaths continues today, following the death of a man in his 60s earlier today.
The accident happened near the town of Ballina in Co. Mayo at around 10.30.
The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the car.
The body was removed to Mayo General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
