A new road fatality has just been reported.
A man in his early 20s has sadly lost his life in a crash that happened at around 5.55pm this evening on Station Road, Cootehill, Co.Cavan.
It is understood that the car he was a passenger in collided with a wall. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cavan General Hospital, where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
The driver and another passenger, who are both in their 20s, were airlifted to hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The road remains closed to facilitate a technical examination.
