Gardai have confirmed that one person died and another one is seriously injured after a car collided with pedestrians in an Irish county.
The incident happened at Stradbally in Co. Laois on Friday today.
The deceased, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A man in his 60s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The occupants of the car were not injured.
