Portuguese football superstar Christiano Ronaldo has agreed to a two-year’s in prison and a tax bill of 18.6 million euro in his tax evasion trial in Spain.
In an amazing coincidence the Spanish Treasury came to this decision just hours before Ronald was set to lead Portugal in its World Cup opening match against Spain.
As Ronaldo is a first-time offender under Spanish law he is permitted to serve his two-year sentence on probation under the condition he not offend again in that time or he will face immediate imprisonment.
Many online have criticized the timing of the decision which could have an affect the Real Madrid footballers playing when he faces off against Spain on Friday evening.
