The Minister for Transport Shane Shane Ross has revealed that driving licences and NCT’s that are due to expire will remain valid during the Covid-19 outbreak.
In a post Twitter, Ross said that all documents will remain valid with insurance companies during the outbreak.
It is understood the changes were made due to the fact that motorists cannot renew either their driving licence or NCT during the outbreak.
Today, my officials engaged with @insurance_irl to confirm that motorists whose certs or licences are expiring will still be insured. I’m happy to say we’ve been assured these documents will be treated as valid. Please stay safe #covid19 pic.twitter.com/myq2pTjfxj
