
Only a few weeks before the general election, the most recent Business Post RED C opinion survey indicates that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have about identical support, reports RTE.
According to a poll of 1,003 respondents conducted over the course of six days ending last Wednesday, Fianna Fáil has increased by three percentage points to 21%, while Fine Gael has decreased by one point to 22%.
While support for the Independents remains constant at 15%, Sinn Féin has also dropped one point to 17%, reports RTE.
Labour is at 4%, while the Social Democrats are at 5%, a one-point decline over the past month.
The Greens have dropped one point to 3%, while Aontú and People Before Profit-Solidarity are similarly impacted, both with 3% support, reports RTE.
While others are receiving 2% support, Independent Ireland is up 1% to 5%.
There is a 3% margin of error in this survey, reports RTE.
