The darling of the 9 o’clock news, Eileen Dunne has retired after some 42 years on air.
The RTE News presenter signed off from her final broadcast this evening saying: “It’s been an honour and a privilege, see you on the other side.”
She thanked her family and colleagues who “sustained” her adding, “and to you the viewers, thank you for your support, especially during those turbulent Covid years”.
The 64-yr-old is now entitled to a lovely fat pension after working for the national broadcaster for more than four decades.
She’ll enjoy the money and her retirement with her husband of 29 years and their son.
